Meet The Team

Eleanor Davies

Eleanor qualified as an Optometrist in 2001 following 3 years of study at Cardiff University and a year in practice in her home town of Lincoln working at Dixon’s Opticians where she had received her first spectacles as a 10 year old. After a couple of years working in a high street practice Eleanor decided to challenge her abilities further and moved into the field of hospital based optometry working in Bristol Eye Hospital for several years. During this time Eleanor developed her skills and interests in Paediatric eye care, Low vision services and provision of contact lenses for the more challenging eyes. However, having married a Gog (North Walian) Eleanor made the move to Bala with her husband Rhys in 2007 and began working at Partridge Opticians. Having taken over the business in 2010 Eleanor strives to maintain the high levels of service in the practice whilst also raising 3 children and training for and competing in triathlons

Malcolm Wilson

Malcolm has been providing services as a locum optometrist for us for many years. An experienced optometrist Malcolm loves nothing better than a chance to escape out on his bike.

Helen Roberts

Helen has been working in the optometry practice for as long as the practice has been open in Dolgellau. Having grown up and lived in the area all her life Helen is a font of local knowledge. Helen is also a dab hand a picking a spectacle frame for a face and has many years of experience ensuring that we provide the best product for your needs.

Gwen Jones

Normally a fleeting presence on the shop floor Gwen is our skilled glazing technician, making up spectacles in our in-house lab. This means that some days we can match the bigger stores and make up single vision spectacles in an hour. Gwen has also been an integral part of the team for many years. Gwen is Dolgellau born and bred.

Clare Allan

Clare joined us in 2011 and rapidly became a valuable member of the team. Originally from the north east Clare brings a bit of northern humour and frankness to the practice. A Welsh learner, Clare has been living in Meirionydd since 2001 and is one of Bala Town’s loyalist fans.

Delyth Parker

Whilst Delyth is the newest member of our staff she is by no means the least experienced having spent many years previously as an optical assistant with Rayners. Dolgellau born and bred Delyth is another staff member who’s local knowledge is a great asset.

Holly Thomas

Holly works part time as required mainly covering the front desk where her readiness to chat to one and all makes her a great asset.
